  • Henry Alvin Brusven (8 November 1906 - 12 December 1971): married 15 June 1964

Irven's sister was Laura Allen Brusven (7 September 1894 - 28 February 1962) and she was married to Eleanor's third husband, Henry Brusven. Laura died the same month as her brother and Eleanor and Henry married a couple years later.

Engagement Is Told At Club Meeting

The engagement of Miss Eleanor Hawkes, now employed in the state offices at Sacramento, and Mr. G.E. Eggersgluess of Crockett was announced at a recent meeting of the Fulton Corona Club.

Miss Hawkes, who graduated from Santa Rosa high school and junior college and San Jose State College, is the daughter of Mrs. Edith Hawkes, postmaster of Fulton, and granddaughter of Mrs. Martha M. Granger.

The marriage is expected to take place in May.

Fulton Girl Married in Reno

Theodora Hawkes, daughter of Mrs. Edith Hawkes of Fulton, was married in Reno to George Emil Eggersgluess of Sacramento on July 3, according to announcement. The couple will live in Sacramento.

Mrs. Edith Granger Hawkes of Fulton announces the marriage of her daughter, Eleanor Theodora Hawkes, to George Emil Eggersgluess of Sacramento. The marriage took place July 3 in Reno, Nevada, and the young couple, after spending the double holiday at the home of Mrs. Hawkes and her mother, Mrs. Martha M. Granger, returned to Sacramento, where they have rented an apartment.

Miss Eleanor Hawkes, daughter of Mrs. Edith Hawkes, and G.E. Eggersgluess of Sacramento slipped quietly away to Reno and were married Saturday, July 3. Mr. and Mrs. Eggersgluess visited at the Hawkes home in Fulton over the double holiday, but have now returned to Sacramento, where they will be at home to their friends at 715 N. street.

Irven Bettag Obituary

Irven Bettag-- Final rites will be held at 1:30 PM tomorrow in the George L. Klumpp Chapel of Flowers for Irven (Red) Bettag, 51 a linotype operator for the San Juan Record for about 10 years. Burial will be in the veterans plot in the City Cemetery.

Bettag, who lied at 4911 Whittier Drive, died in the Mercy Hospital yesterday following an illness of two weeks.

He was the husband of Eleanor, father of Mrs. Connie Rider of Kinyon, Siskiyou County, Robert L. of Georgia; William and Richard, both of Sacramento; brother of Laura Allen Brusven of Sacramento, May Arey of Kansas and Henry Bettag, of Illinois and the grandfather of four.

George and Irven had their funeral services in the same chapel as Edith's service (George L. Klumpp Funeral Parlor).

In Reno, Nev., July 3, 1959, to Henry A. Brusven, 52, and Laura P. Allen, 59, both of Sacramento.

Laura's age is incorrect, she would have been 64 (she was born 7 September 1894).

Laura died less than a month after her brother, Irven Bettag, Eleanor's second husband. Henry Brusven was Eleanor's brother-in-law before they married on 15 June 1964.

Henry married Hilda Traganza on 23 April 1971 in Carson City, NV. Hilda was born in England on 12 December 1898 and died in Sacramento on 25 July 1993. Her obituary was published in The Sacramento Bee, Sacramento, CA, 28 July 1993, Wednesday, page 22. She is buried in Elk Grove Cemetery.
